Virgílio Costa was born in Coimbra where he did his first studies.

It astonishes us the way he deals with his palette knife and creates a work of art with colours and drawings that reveal a particular energy full of fantasy, in which his creative imagination mixes with the daily reality of life.

The painting's universe of his creative imagination mixes with the streets' scenes, beaches with typical boats and crowded with active people par excellence, as well as scenes of Portuguese harbours.
