Carrapateira is without doubt the best place for an intense introduction to our most characterful European sea. Sometimes turquoise, calm and flat. On other days dark, white and wild, with waves up to six meters. But always beautiful and impressive!

Carrapateira is the most southwesterly point of continental Europe. From here you can at night see the beams of the lighthouses of Sagres and Cape Sardão.

Whales, dolphins and even orcas, have been observed closeby both by local fishermen and boat tourists. Numerous other species are sold fresh daily in Sagres and already at supper will appear on your plate in Carrapateira's restaurants!
